Our products are environmentally certified and meet legal and market requirements for sustainable construction.

The rapid pace of construction poses a challenge in aligning with Sweden's climate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, given that the construction and real estate sector accounts for 1/5 of Sweden's total greenhouse gas emissions. A new law has been in effect since 2022, requiring developers to calculate and report the climate impact of buildings. This means that there will be demands placed on us as a material supplier to provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for our products.

The new 9000XE meets the requirements.

Of course, the FMM 9000XE series meets the many green legal and market requirements imposed on the construction and real estate sector today. The series has been developed and tested in accordance with the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's Building Regulations, EU Taxonomy, RISE/KIWA Energy Classification, Building Material Assessment/SundaHus, and Environmental Building/LEED/BREEAM.

The products have Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) available, which detail the total climate impact of the products throughout their entire life cycle.

Certifications / Environmental Assessments

Type approval

Issued by RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) or alternatively KIWA, which ensures that the product complies with the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning regulations (PBL, Planning and Building Act) regarding both function and health for installation in buildings in Sweden. Our products are type-approved by RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden).

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for a building product describes the product's environmental impact throughout all or parts of its lifecycle.

EU Taxonomy

Part of the EU's green growth strategy that facilitates for investors to make sustainable choices within the construction industry. Our products meet the flow requirements in the EU taxonomy.

Energy labeling

The energy labeling of tap water fixtures, according to the Swedish SIS-standardized system, is similar to the one used for household appliances. The product is assessed based on its energy efficiency and classified on a scale from A to G. We offer a wide range of energy-labeled products with the highest possible energy classification.

Construction-related products are assessed based on chemical content and environmental impact throughout their life cycle. FM Mattsson has a large number of products assessed by the Building Product Assessment.

SundaHus

Swedish environmental certification system for buildings. Our products can contribute points to the building's overall score in a certification.

Svanen

Nordic environmental certification for buildings means that the Nordic countries have the certification collectively. Our products can contribute points to the building's overall score in a certification.

LEED

An internationally recognized certification system for sustainable buildings and is one of the most well-known assessment systems globally. Our products with customized water flows can contribute points to the building's overall assessment in a certification.

BREEAM (International)

"An environmental certification system from the United Kingdom that has been in existence since 1990. It is the most widely used system for building environmental certification in Europe. Our products with customized water flows and conscious material choices can contribute points to the building's overall assessment in a certification."

BREEAM In-Use

A UK-based environmental certification system that has been in existence since 2009. The primary purpose of BREEAM In-Use is to reduce the environmental impact of existing buildings. Our products with customized water flows can contribute points to the building's overall assessment during certification.

Green Building

It is aimed at property owners and managers who want to optimize energy usage in their premises and residences. Our products with Energy Class A can positively contribute to the overall energy calculation for the building.

Green Key

A leading international environmental certification for facilities in the hospitality and tourism industry. Our products with customized water flows can contribute to meeting mandatory flow requirements and can also earn points towards the overall assessment of the building during certification.
